Delta Gamma and the Service for Sight Program
An administrative professional based in Michigan, Annalise McMahan recently graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in psychology. As a student, Annalise McMahan was active in Delta Gamma, a group she continues to support.
Since its founding in 1873, Delta Gamma has been dedicated to philanthropy and community service. Today, the international sorority oversees a foundation with three signature programs, including Service for Sight.
For more than 80 years, Service for Sight has been giving Delta Gammas the opportunity to help those living with blindness and other visual impairments. The program comprises two adjunct initiatives, one that focuses on military veterans who have experienced vision loss or impairment, and one that focuses on senior citizens in assisted-living facilities.
In addition, Service for Sight oversees five schools for children with visual impairments. The schools, located in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Kansas City, and St. Louis, are supported by Delta Gamma members and alumnae. More information about Service for Sight and other Delta Gamma initiatives is available at www.deltagamma.org.
